ABA Australia 2019 Conference

The Association for Behaviour Analysis Australia is proud to announce its fourth annual 3-day conference in Melbourne, Victoria.

The theme of the conference is ‘Behaviour Analysis in Australia: Diverse & Relevant‘. A celebration of the various ways that Behaviour Analysis is a part of the Australian story and the potential for the field to have a broader reaching, positive impact across the country in the future.

As Australia’s premiere event in all things behaviour analytic, our 2019 Conference offers a unique opportunity to showcase the science of behaviour analysis in terms of its wide application and relevance in Australia and worldwide. We are looking forward to hearing from a diverse group of researchers, professionals, and academics currently working in the field, both here and internationally.

The conference is the perfect chance to keep up-to-date with current research and connect with colleagues who share an interest in behaviour analysis.

Conference Schedule

We are excited to offer a 1-day workshop on Friday, 26th July followed by a 2-day single stream conference.

Friday 26th July

Dr. Evelyn Gould, BCBA-D will be giving an all day workshop

Time: 9am -  5pm

Topic: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Saturday and Sunday 27th and 28th July

Tentative time: 8:30am - 6pm Saturday and Stunday

Our keynotes will be Dr. Claire St Peter, BCBA-D and Dr. Russell Lang, BCBA-D

Our invited speaker will be:

Donna Quay, talking about OBM

Dr. Jeffery Chan and Tracey Harkness from the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission

We will be hosting a Saturday Night Social and poster session. This is a great opportunity to network with colleagues and talk to researchers. Remember first drink is on us!

The ABA Australia is a professional organisation that seeks to assist in the development and advancement of the field of behaviour analysis within Australia through research, education, and dissemination of information.

Our 2019 Conference offers a unique opportunity to showcase the science of Behaviour Analysis in terms of its wide application and relevance worldwide and in the Australian context. We are looking forward to having a diversity of researchers, professionals and academics currently working in the field of Behaviour Analysis, both here and internationally, share their work. It will also provide an exciting and wide range of learning opportunities for anyone interested in the science of Behaviour Analysis. We would like to invite you to consider participating in what is sure to be an amazing event.

Do you have research to present? A project you are working on? We would love to hear about the great work you are doing in the field of Behaviour Analysis and provide an opportunity for you to share it with our delegates at our 2019 Conference in Melbourne on 28th and 29th July.

PARKING

Car parking is available at the Secure Car Park located directly below the hotel. Guests simply take a ticket from the boom gate on entry and park as normal – they will then need to present that ticket at the hotel reception desk to receive the discounted rate of $25 per day.

Transport & Information about Melbourne

Public transport is available via Parliament train station and numerous tram lines on Bourke Street.

Airport tranfers via SkyBus

The Skybus is available from the airport directly to the hotel (via Southern Cross Station).

Guests leaving the airport simply proceed to the concourse where the closest Skybus terminal is located and the service then takes them express between Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine) and Southern Cross Station in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD – 24/7, day departures every 10 minutes.

Terminals are located at the following terminals:

T1 – for Qantas domestic, QantasLink and Jetstar domestic travellers
T3 – for Virgin Blue domestic, Tiger Airways, Regional Express, and all travellers on international flights.

Arriving at T2 – Catch SkyBus kerbside at T1 or T3, only a few steps away.
Arriving at T4 – Board SkyBus kerbside at T3, a short walk away.

Guests will need to change buses at Southern Cross Station and then check in at the Hotel Transfer Service booth – a SkyBus mini-bus will then drop guests directly to the hotel. For your convenience, the SkyBus Hotel Transfer Service operates Monday to Friday: 6am – 10.30pm and Saturday, Sunday: 7.30am – 5.30pm
