What is ABA Australia up to?
After much consideration we have decided to continue to postpone our in-person annual conference for another year.
But we are not going to miss highlighting Australian researchers and practitioners nor connect with experts from around the world. Instead we are going to host a virtual conference this year in July 2021.
We are drafting the professional competencies and code of ethics and look forward to having completed drafts soon.
Membership is open to anyone interested in behaviour analysis. For example, members can be behaviour analyst, psychologist, behaviour program supervisors, administrators, program directors, teachers, speech pathologist, other professionals, direct care staff, parents, students, or individuals receiving behaviour analytic services.
Members help to promote the mission and objectives of ABAA.
National Regulation of Behaviour Analysts
There have been many challenges in advancing the field of ABA due to it being unregulated in Australia. This has led to a lack of understanding about what our profession is and in protecting the title of "behaviour analyst."
ABA Australia sees the regulation the field of ABA as a top priority and is actively taking steps to develop professional self-regulation.
