ABA Australia invites you to apply for membership. ABA Australia offers several categories of membership for professional behaviour analysts, students and members of the public with special interests in behaviour analysis in Australia
We have implemented an online system for membership applications that enables applicants to lodge the required information and supporting documentation online.
Your application will be reviewed by the Membership Committee and if approved an email with instructions for payment of the membership fee will be sent to your nominated email address.

Your membership application can only be completed in one sitting (you cannot save and come back to it at a later date) so please make sure you have all your documents available.
Applications must be accompanied by the required supporting documentation for your application for membership to be considered; incomplete documentation will delay the application process.
Please label your document as follow: Last name_First Name_Document Type
E.g., Haberlin_Alayna_CV
If you have completed an university degree in Australia, please send the testamur, academic record and/or transcript via MyeQuals.
Applications that include qualifications obtained from overseas universities will be assessed using Australian government provided information to ensure that your overseas degree is comparable with an appropriate qualification from an Australian university.
Admission to membership of ABA Australia at the level of CBA, CBA-U, professional affiliate and student is subject to compliance with the criteria detailed in the application guides.
All members agree to be bound by ABA Australia’s Code of Ethical Practice. You are advised to read the Code of Ethical Practice carefully before submitting your application.
The National Code of Conduct is a minimum set of standards of conduct for all health service providers who are not regulated by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Behaviour Analysts are included in this group of health professionals and must abide by the National Code of Conduct for your state or territory.
ABA Australia application fees started on 1 February 2024. An application fee is charged on some membership applications to cover some of the costs of processing. It will not be refunded if your application is not successful. The following application fees (excluding GST) will be applied:
CBA and CBA-U - $40 application fee
Professional - $30 application fee
Affiliate - $20 application fee
Student - no application fee
Supporter - no application fee
Review of the application will not start until the application fee payment has been received. Payment is due within 15 days of invoice date. If payment is not received then the application is closed. If your application is closed, then you will need to start a new application. If you are have difficulty paying your application fee, please contact membership@auaba.com.au as soon as possible for assistance.
Membership dues will be charged upon successful endorsement of an applicant. See membership categories page for current fees.
Your membership commences from when your application has been successfully determined and you will be notified via email. Membership is for a 12 month period. Prior to your membership expiring, you will be sent renewal reminders. If you do not complete the renewal application, submit requested documents, and pay your renewal fee, your membership will automatically expire on the date given in your email reminder.
Please ensure the information you provide in your application is accurate. This information will appear in ABA Australia’s online member directory.
Applications are assessed in order of arrival and can take anywhere from 4 weeks or longer. It can be delayed by the following:
not uploading the required documentation, and/or
applicant not responding to email requests to confirm information in their application.
