Non-practicing status. Designed as a hold on your CBA or CBAU certification for up to 3 years if you are planning a short absence from the field and wish to remain connected to the behaviour analytic profession and have a seamless pathway to return to practice in the future

Members interested in transitioning to non-practicing status should first carefully review the relevant policy and procedure document to ensure they understand the implications and requirements of this change. Once familiar with the policy and procedures, they are required to complete and submit the designated form for processing. This form is essential for formalising the transition and must be filled out accurately to avoid any delays or issues with their membership status. Please ensure that all necessary steps are followed to facilitate a smooth and efficient transition.

1. Pay administration fee of $75 AUD exclusive of GST 2. Email the following 3 documents to membership@auaba.com.au Completed Membership Reinstatement Request Form  Completed ABA Australia CPD record (20 PDUs) and evidence of completion for each PDU e.g., certificates of completion Completed ABA Australia Supervision Agreement Letter template showing that you will receive minimum monthly supervision for 6 months 3. Refer to the Non-Practicing Membership Policy for all details Use the Non-Practicing Status Request Form to apply for a non-practicing membership The start date of member’s non-practicing membership is upon approval from membership team Non-practicing members do not need to renew on an annual basis  Non-practicing members must include non-practicing designations for their professional title e.g., Name, CBA (Non-Practicing) Non-practicing members must continue to adhere to the Code of Ethical Practice If the member returns to active membership within 3 years, their renewal date will be adjusted to reflect the time they were recognised as non-practicing  If the member exceeds 3 years as non-practicing, their membership will be cancelled at 37 months from their last paid renewal, and if the member chooses to rejoin ABA Australia, the member will need to submit a new application and meet the membership requirements at that current time
