Since 2023, ABA Australia has been hosting monthly Ethics Discussion Groups to support members in deepening their understanding of ethical practice in behaviour analysis. These sessions provide a collaborative, conversational space to explore real-world applications of the ABA Australia Code of Ethical Practice with peers and facilitators.

About the Groups

Our Ethics Discussion Groups are:

  • Held online once a month for members.

  • Designed to be interactive and discussion-focused rather than lecture-style.

  • A chance to connect with peers and learn through case examples and group dialogue.

  • A supportive forum to explore ethical concepts in an applied context.

Each session focuses on a specific section of the Code and includes opportunities to ask questions, share perspectives, and discuss ethical decision-making strategies.

What to Expect

Discussion groups typically include:

  • A brief introduction and summary of the relevant part of the Code of Ethical Practice.

  • Case vignettes presented to prompt discussion.

  • Group discussion and reflection on ethical questions and application.

  • Time for questions and interactive dialogue.

  • A short feedback survey to help us continue improving the experience.

Professional Development Benefits

Each Ethics Discussion Group earns 1 ABA Australia PDU for eligible members who meet attendance requirements.

Some sessions may also be eligible for 1 BACB CEU, depending on the presenter and session approval. Where applicable, BACB CEU availability will be clearly stated on the individual event listing.

Attendance requirements

  • Attend the full session, arriving within 5 minutes of the start time and staying until the end.

  • Complete the session feedback survey.

How to Join

Upcoming topics and dates are announced monthly and can be viewed on the Events Calendar. Registration is required via the calendar. (Member login required.)
