Professional Self Regulation Working Groups

In March 2020, a call-out was made for volunteers - members of ABA Australia who were passionate to assist with the mammoth task of introducing a professional self-regulatory model for behaviour analysts across Australia. The call was made and our members stepped forward. In the 3 years since, our ‘PSR working group members’ have assisted in the development, review and introduction of policies and procedures, the Code of Ethics, Supervision Standards of Practice and so much more.

In the last 12 months, our working group members were then invited to join a task force focusing on Advertising, Examination Research and Development or Supervision. ABA Australia has valued the input of over 25 volunteers working across these 3 major focus areas in 2023.

Each volunteer cycle lasts for 12 weeks. Upon registering an ‘expression of interest’, members are invited to an initial online induction which includes information on ABA Australia, the history of our self-regulation and the current task assigned. Members are provided with a calendar schedule for the 12 week period/commitment, and encouraged to maintain regular correspondence via our working platform on Trello. Meeting virtually every 2 weeks, working group members work collaboratively to ensure that the tasks assigned are completed on-time.

As 2023 comes to a close, we would like to express our appreciation to our PSR working group members who continue to support ABA Australia. We look forward to continuing to work with you in 2024.
