Special Interest Groups

Special Interest Groups (SIGs) give ABA Australia members dedicated platforms to discuss and explore specific topics furthering the association’s mission of advancing, promoting, and applying behaviour analysis.

The purpose of each SIG is to:

  • provide advice on matters related to their interest area to ABA Australia

  • develop training and educational resources and practice guidelines

  • support behaviour analysts working in their area of interest

  • advocate for their clinical area of special interest and develop position statements related to their special interest area

  • promote awareness of current issues relating to their special interest area

A Chair or Co-Chairs are responsible for organising the group’s activities and delegating responsibilities. Many of the SIGs meet for discussions by teleconference throughout the year and hold an in-person meeting at the Annual Conference.

Establish a SIG

When creating new SIGs, we need members who will engage and share ideas, as well as individuals willing to take on the Chair role. If you have a new SIG idea, or are interested in helping to establish any of the ideas suggested by our members, please review the SIG Policy for steps on how to establish a SIG.
