How to Apply Relational Frame Theory in Early Intensive Behavioural Intervention Learning Programs

Presenters

Susan Petrie, Minds That Matter

Joey Lim

Description

Relational Frame Theory (RFT) has been shown to increase rates of learning, and help learners develop fluent, flexible and generative language. Learn to confidently apply RFT by first learning the precursors, the core principles, specific programming changes to make, and how to test for relational responding.

Learn to confidently program with RFT. Know the 3 essential precursor skills to RFT and how to teach them effectively. Make specific programming changes in order to maximise learning and target relational responding. Finally learn what recombinative generalisation is and how to target it. Programming sheets, videos, and live practise included!

Objectives

By the end of this half-day presentation, delegates will be able to;

  1. List the RFT prerequisite skills, and know how to teach each one.
  2. Integrate RFT within Skinner’s verbal operants.
  3. Make changes to current EIBI programs to include RFT.
  4. Learn what recombinative generalisation is and how to program for it.
  5. Learn what arbitrary applicable relational responding is and how to test for it
