Candidate Information for General Board Member |
Caitlin Ambrosia |
Biography Hi! I’m Caitlin Ambrosia, and I’m a BCBA and CBA living in Adelaide, South Australia. I’ve been working in the field of ABA for over 10 years across 3 different countries. I am originally from California, USA, but I’ve lived in Australia for 7 years now. I have travelled, lived, worked, and studied all over the world and have visited all 7 continents- this has shaped how I view and understand different people and cultures, and has a massive impact on the way I deliver services and find common ground with anyone! I am so passionate about the application of behaviour analysis, especially within early intervention and with children who are non-vocal. I love advocating for my clients and demonstrating compassionate ABA. I currently run my own small business providing early intervention services, consulting, and rural outreach, and am in the process of launching a new and unique service (watch this space!). In my free time, I enjoy camping, hiking, and walks along the beach with my husband and our golden retriever puppy. I’d be excited to join the Board and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of behaviour analysis in Australia whilst representing you! |
Candidate Statement If selected, I hope to contribute to ABA Australia on the Working Board by offering a unique combination of grassroots service delivery, small business leadership, behaviour analytic knowledge, and my ‘outside of the box’ creative thinking (as someone with a neurodivergent brain!). With experience in the field across multiple countries- spanning early intervention, clinical supervision, and rural outreach- I offer both practical insight and a systems-level understanding of service gaps across the industry. My work has consistently focused on innovation in underserved areas, such as launching a new, trauma-informed behavioural health initiative to address service shortages in my state. This aligns with ABA Australia's objective of advancing access and quality across diverse contexts. My previous United States Peace Corps service further reflects my commitment to sustainable, community-embedded practice, and has strengthened my ability to adapt, collaborate, and lead under limited-resource conditions—skills that remain relevant in many current Australian service environments. In operating my own small business, I’ve built experience in governance, policy development, risk management, and human resources. I have created procedures aligned with NDIS standards, managed finances and growth, and cultivated partnerships with schools, allied health, and medical professionals. These partnerships allow me to bring cross-sector insights and connection opportunities to the Board. Finally, I am a clear communicator and a natural collaborator. I actively advocate for applied behaviour analysis through education, relationship-building, and values-aligned service design. It is my dream to advance the shift in our field. My presence on the Working Board would be one of proactive support, creative input, and reflective practice—guided by evidence, ethics, and a strong belief in the potential of ABA to support meaningful, inclusive outcomes. |
